Whether you are planning a multigenerational Barbados family vacation or a luxurious couples getaway, there is no better way to truly settle in to this gorgeous Caribbean island than by renting a Barbados luxury villa. This post will help you discover some of the top villas on the beach Barbados has to offer.
There are an overwhelming number of beachfront villas in Barbados to choose from, but naturally, they are not all equal. There is a reason, for example, that many of the most spectacular Barbados luxury villas are located along the west coast of the island. This special stretch of paradise is often referred to as the Platinum Coast and is home to the island’s most gentle beaches, incredible sunsets and top-rated restaurants.
From my own experience trying to find the perfect Barbados villa rental – spending days on end pouring over listings as well as working with a villa agent – I have come up with this short list of incredible luxury villas in Barbados.
Before going into the list, I would first like to offer some quick tips for Barbados luxury villa rentals.
Tips for Barbados Villa Rentals
- Before booking Barbados villa holidays, be sure to check visitor entry requirement on the Visit Barbados tourism website.
- Book early – the good ones can book more than a year out.
- Read the deposit and cancellation policy carefully. (We are living in very unusual times!)
- Book for at least a week. The best villas in Barbados almost always have a 7 day minimum.
- Read reviews carefully. If you can’t find many reviews for a particular Barbados villa, Google the villa name as you may find more reviews for it on a different Barbados vacation rental site.
- If an attractive villa does not have any reviews, inquire as to why. A villa we rented recently, for example, did not have reviews because it was brand new.
- Be prepared for additional expenses. Barbados has a 7.5% Value Added Tax on vacation rentals.
- Be aware of tipping etiquette for villa staff. How much should you tip villa staff on Barbados? While of course it is up to your discretion, here are some rough guidelines: Butlers – $100/week, Maid – $75/week, Cooks – $100/week, Laundresses – $75/week, Security Personnel and Gardeners- $50/week
