As you will see, the cost of having a hotel suite with separate bedrooms and perhaps a living room and kichenette can seem quite dear, but it is probably still cheaper than having to book 2 hotel rooms in one of the world’s most expensive cities.
Please note, these numbers were taken only from hotels in New York with 2 bedrooms suites that get very good or great reviews.

The Best Western Plus Hospitality House is a great choice if you are looking for affordable hotels with 2 bedroom suites in NYC. And boy, are these suites ever spacious at more than 1100 sq. ft. (102 sq. m)!
This hotel is conveniently located in Midtown East close to many attractions including the MOMA, Rockefeller Center and Radio City Music Hall (all within walking distance).
For visitors looking for hotels in New York with 2 bedroom suites, the Best Western has the option of a master bedroom with a king and a second bedroom with either a queen bed or two twin beds. There is also a pull out sofa in the living room for 2 more guests.
At the BW Hospitality House, guests can really settle in with their fully equipped kitchen (oven, dishwasher etc.), free high-speed internet access and iPod docking stations. Guests also love the welcome basket with snacks as well as the daily full hot breakfast included in a stay.

2. Radio City Apartments
Sleeps 5 or 6 – Times Square 3★ – 8.6/10
Th Radio City Apartments are a great option if location and value are what you prioritize when searching for hotels with 2 bedroom suites in New York City
The property is in a perfect location for theater-lovers – just a few minutes’ walk from Broadway, Times Square and Rockefeller Centre.
Radio City’s 2 bedroom hotel suite NYC option is approximately 470 square feet (44m). The first bedroom has a queen bed, while the second bedroom has two twin beds. There is a separate living space with a sofa bed and one full bathroom. The kitchenette includes a fridge, microwave, stove, coffee/tea facilities and a dining area.
All two-bedroom suite guest rooms at this property can accommodate up to 5 guests plus one child 12 years or under. Radio City Apartments offers free wifi and daily housekeeping.

3. Sonesta Shelburne Suites
Sleeps 6 – Midtown East 4★ – 7.9/10
Sonesta has several lovely suite hotel properties in NYC, but the Shelburne Sonesta Hotel in Murray Hill is our favorite for location. Located in Midtown East, it is just a short walk (or shorter Uber) to Bryant Park, The Empire State Building, Times Square, the Broadway Theater District and Rockefeller Center.
For those looking for New York hotel suites with 2 bedrooms, these apartments can be a great option at a generous 700-950 sq. feet (65-88 sq. m).
The suites have 1 bedroom with a king-sized bed, a second bedroom with a queen bed, and a sofabed in the spacious living room (sleeping up to 6 people). There are also 2 bathrooms and 3 flat screen TV’s.
The suites have an “urban kitchen” which includes a mini-fridge, microwave and coffee maker. In addition to Sonesta’s standard 2-bedroom suites, the hotels also offers one exceptionally lovely terrace suite as well as a penthouse deluxe two bedroom suite.

4. The Kimberley
Sleeps 4 – Midtown East 4★ – 8.9/10
Decorated in an elegant Italian style, the Kimberley offers a luxurious stay in the heart of East Midtown. This property is in an ideal location for visiting Rockefeller Center, Grand Central Station, and Bryant Park. Times Square and the Theatre District are only a 20 minute walk away.
The 2 bedroom suites at the Kimberley offer a master bedroom with either or king or queen size bed. The second bedroom has either a queen or a full size bed. The units have 2 full marble bathrooms, a living room (with a pull-out sofa) a dining area and a private terrace.
Although the two bedroom suites at this property do not have a full kitchen, they do have a mini refrigerator, a coffee maker and a microwave. They are roughly 1000 sq. ft. (93 sq. m).
Guests of the Kimberley absolutely love Upstairs, the year-round rooftop bar (offering breakfast, brunch, evening cocktails and small plates). There is also an on-site fitness center and a beautiful salt water aquarium in the lobby.

5. The Andaz 5th Ave (by Hyatt)
Sleeps 6 – Midtown 4★ – 8.3/10
The Andaz 5th Ave NYC is located in a fantastic Midtown location, opposite Bryant Park and the New York Public Library. There is also excellent shopping right nearby along 5th Avenue
The property features on-site dining, a speak-easy style bar, a 24-hour fitness centre and a business centre.
For those looking for 2 bedroom suites in New York City hotels that offer a ton of space, these large units range from 1000-1500 sq. feet (92-140m sq.). The layout includes a king bed in each bedroom, 2 bathrooms and a sleeper sofa in the living room (sleeping up to 6).
The suites feature a modern decor with amenities including a flat-screen tv, a kitchenette, Nespresso machine, robes, luxury Apotek toiletries and a complimentary minibar with non-alcoholic beverages and snacks.

6. Mint House at 70 Pine
Sleep 6 – Financial District 4★ – 9/2/10
The Mint House is an Art Deco classic located in the Financial District, close to the Brooklyn Bridge. Amenities include a gourmet grocer, a modern fitness center, a golf simulator and even a bowling alley.
As far as New York 2 bedroom suite hotel options go, they have some very spacious units at over 1050 sq. feet. (98m sq.) The first option is a 1 Bath/2 Bedroom (1 King /1 Queen) plus sofabed suite. The second option is a 2 Bath/2 bedroom (1 King/1 Queen) plus sofabed suite.
Suites include Frette linens, Malin+Goetz toiletries, robes, a full kitchen, a bar cart, and even a washer and dryer. There is a Bluetooth-enabled vinyl record player, a 48″ Smart TV and free wifi.

7. AKA Times Square

As far as hotel with suites in New York go, the AKA definitely has one of the best locations, right in the heart of Times Square.
The 2 bedroom units range in size from 850-885 sq. feet (79-82 m sq.) They feature a modern design, high speed wifi, lots of closet space, and beautiful hardwood floors.
There is a high end kitchen with Sub Zero Bosch appliances, and the units even have a washer and dryer.
The apartment suites can accommodate 5 people. Each bedroom has a queen bed and an additional cot can be provided in the shared living space for a small fee ($35).

8. Loews Regency
Sleeps 6 – Upper East Side 4★ – 8.6/10
This luxurious hotel is popular with families for its close proximity to Central Park, The Natural History Museum and The Met.
As far as New York hotel 2 bedroom suite options go, the ones at Loews are especially large at 1150 sq. feet (107 sq. m). They feature a king size bed in the first bedroom and 2 doubles in the second bedroom. Some units also have a sofabed in the living room.
While these suites do not have a full kitchen, they offer a microwave, mini-fridge, coffee maker and kettle.
This Art Deco gem offers convenient on-site dining, 24-hour gym access and concierge service.

The Beacon Hotel’s Upper West Side location is fantastic for families, within a few blocks of Central Park, the Museum of Natural History and the Children’s Museum of Manhattan.
Its large rooms and suites (all with kitchenettes) are great for those looking for a New York hotel room for 6 people. It has the convenience of a grocery store right across the street and is very close to a Metro station.

10. Hotel Scherman
Sleep 6 – Midtown 4★ – 9/10
If you are looking for boutique 2 bedroom hotels in New York, the New Orleans-styled Hotel Scherman is a great option. It is also in a great location, close to Times Square and the Broadway Theater District.
The Scherman’s two bedroom suites have a king bed in one bedroom, a queen bed in the second bedroom and a sofa bed in the living room. Each suite has a small kitchen with a wetbar, fridge and microwave (a complimentary continental breakfast is also included).
Compared to many of the NYC 2 bedroom hotel suites, the ones at the Scherman are a little smaller, coming in at about 700 sq. ft (65 sq. m). If you can score one of the suites with a terrace though, you won’t mind the smaller floor plan one bit!

11. The Dominick Hotel

The Dominick is a real favourite for people looking for Manhattan hotels with suites. Their units are extra-spacious and offer luxury amenities including a full-service spa, a fitness center, 4 restaurants and 7th floor pool with beautiful city views.
Their lovely 2 bedroom NYC hotel suites have custom-made furniture, flat screen TVs, iPod docking stations, Italian marble bathrooms, and a small kitchen (microwave, Nespresso maker).
The Soho view 2-bedroom units have a king bed in each of the bedrooms and a sofa bed in the living room. They can comfortably sleep up to six people in the more than 1100 sq. ft (104 sq. m) of living space.

Sleep up to 8 – Midtown 4.5★ – 8.8/10
The Lotte NYC suite hotel is located in a fantastic Midtown location right across the street from Rockefeller Center. The MOMA, Times Square and the Broadway Theater District are also all close by.
The hotel has a restaurant, cafe, fitness center and bar. The property offers a variety of 2 bedroom suite configurations (both with or without a kitchen) starting at 760 sq. ft (71 sq. m). They also have some really large units that are suitable for a family or large group of up to 8 people.

Apart Hotels in New York City
As I mentioned earlier in this post, New York City has very strict regulations around short term vacation rentals (VRBO etc.). Some companies have been able to skirt around these restrictions by buying up whole building and converting them to New York Aparthotels.
Typically, an apart hotel in New York City will offer fully furnished apartments with some of the amenities of a full service property, such as a 24 hour concierge, and optional services such as house cleaning. Most will have a living space area, a kitchen and sometimes even laundry facilities.
With paired down amenities, choosing an apart hotel in New York can be a more affordable option for those on an extended stay in the city. Please see several options below.

PlaceMakr Wall St
Located in lower Manhattan, the PlaceMakr is perfect for those needing a lot of space. This aparthotel New York City location offers studio, 1, 2, 3 and 4 bedroom options (the latter two being almost impossible to find in NYC).

NYC Hotels with Adjoining Rooms
If you are looking for hotels in New York with connecting rooms, pay careful attention. Look for language like internally connecting, inter-connecting or adjoining instead of adjacent, where the rooms are unlikely to have an internally connected door.
The truth is, it can be very tricky to successfully book New York hotels with adjoining rooms. The reason for this is that while many hotels will let your request them, very few will actually guarantee them.
Obviously, this is a huge problem for groups looking for hotels in New York with connecting rooms. Arriving at a hotel to discover that your supposedly connecting rooms are actually on two different floors is definitely not ideal (and something that has happened to our family on numerous occasions over the years).
Expedia offers a feature allowing you to book connecting rooms. After you book the rooms, Expedia reaches out to the hotel to confirm that connecting rooms are available and then confirms with you via email. Personally, I still think there is a small risk here that you could arrive at your chosen property and not have connecting rooms.
Much better is Hilton’s connecting hotel room finder. Hilton goes so far as to actually guarantee that you will have connecting rooms in NYC.
